Feedstock biogas output

The attached spreadsheet, titled ‘Feedstock potential’, provides information on the potential biogas output from 50+ feedstock categories. This spreadsheet is a great way for those who are considering building an anaerobic digester to quickly and easily determine the biogas production potential of feedstocks that might be available in their surrounding area. For example, to find out the highest biogas producing feedstocks, simply sort the spreadsheet by Column 15 (Nm3 CH4/tonne wet weight (e.g. as received at AD plant).

However, this spreadsheet is based on European biogas trials. Furthermore, feedstock category descriptions may also differ between Europe and North America. Therefore, this spreadsheet should only be used for guidance, and should in no way replace the feedstock sampling and analysis that anaerobic digestion project developers are encouraged to undertake before building a digester.
