BCUC's Biogas Approval

Terasen Gas received approval from the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) for a new renewable natural gas program for an initial 2 year period. Up to 24,000 residential customers will be able to sign up for the program. 10% of customers’ natural gas will come from local biogas projects. Expectations are such that 210,000 gigajoules of biomethane will be bought in the first year of the program, saving approximately 11,000 tonnes in GHG emissions, the equivalent of removing approximately 2,000 car from the road each year.
